Property Ownership in British Columbia

Michael and wife Nicole do not own any property in British Columbia.[1]

By visiting the BC Land Title & Survey Authority (LTSA) portal anyone can, for a small fee, search for lands by owner(s). Such a search reveals neither Michael or his wife Nicole own property in British Columbia (image below). The Flying "L" Ranch property is owned by a company.

LTSA records show Michael and Nicole once owned DL384, an 80 acre property located a few minute's drive south-west of the Flying "L" Ranch property (Title Number: CA948693, PID: 011-225-815, Legal Description: District Lot 384, Range 2 Coast District). See the approximatel location of DL384 via Google Maps.

The transfer documents reveal Michael and Nicole purchased DL384 on October 10, 2008 showing $138,336.00 as both the Market Value and the Consideration. When they sold the property on May 30, 2018 it showed a Market Value of $69,800.00 and a Consideration of $61,000.00.

In his second bankruptcy petition Michael declared his ownership of DL384 describing it as:

80 acres located at 727 Williams Lake British Columbia-- Land locked-- First Nations Tribal (band) land-- must have permission of the band before you can step foot on the property, sell the property or do anything with the property. No easement and is located in the center of the band's sacred land-- it consists of mostly swamp land with a small section used for grazing-- full tax value shown

Searching LTSA records finds no property decribed as "727 Williams Lake British Columbia". DL384 is a "Fee Simple" title and permission from the Local First Nations for entry to, use or selling of, the property is not required. The property remains readily accessible by two public roads and is located in the southernmost section of the Tsilhqot’in Declared Title Area.
