We have a lot of fun with little orphaned foal Magnus. As much as can be had during every three hour feedings, three different meds, milk replacer and a nail biter situation with his low energy levels with lack of development.

It’s been exactly two months since he lost his Dam Maggie. When trying to save her he stayed nursing in the hopes she would pull through. But on day 5 she passed.

So at that point he became an orphan and even with all our caring and feeding, the entire event seems to have gotten the best of him. After this long we have tried all we can do from our remote ranch. A malabsorption issue due to any myriad of biological anomalies/failures could be the culprit for his dull lethargic behavior..

That’s why we’re making the dangerous trip south through known active wild fire areas, to get him to the Vet ASAP. Getting full labs, ultrasounds, endoscopies, and possibly surgeries can only be done in an advanced medical environment. So we have to go now.

Our community has rallied around this little guy and the support from the followers is the only means we’re able to spare no expense, to get Magnus figured out and on his way to a long productive life.
